I'm trying to locate old iMessage conversations I had with my brother, who passed away in a car accident back in 2020. I thought I had backed them up to iCloud, and I've used a couple of methods to do so, but I can't seem to find them now. I've upgraded to new devices since then, but I still have my original iPad. Can anyone help me find these texts and advise on how to store them securely? Thanks!

You could use iMazing, which is paid software for Mac and PC that allows you to export conversations as PDFs. It's pretty reliable for accessing past messages.
Make sure you don’t have a time span set for automatic message deletion on your iMessage. It’s worth checking since that could affect what you see.
