My daughter received an iPad for Christmas, but we're having trouble downloading apps because we don't use Apple products in our family. When she tries to download an app, it says it will send a notification to me for approval. I still have an iCloud account, but I can't access those notifications since I don't have any Apple devices. How can I give her permission to download apps?

To approve app downloads, you actually need an Apple device to receive the notifications. If you don't have one, it's pretty frustrating since there's no way to bypass this. You might want to consider using an old iPhone or iPad, if you have one lying around, just to manage those permissions.
I wish I had known this before spending my money... grrr.
I faced a similar issue with my niece's new iPad. I ended up doing a factory reset and setting it up under my old iCloud account, but that opened up the internet access for her too early. It’s really annoying dealing with these proprietary restrictions, especially when you just want to get her the apps she wants.

This is such garbage. This type of crap is exactly why I left Apple's ecosystem.
