Hey everyone! I've been pondering what it truly takes to become an expert in Azure. I'm not focused on certifications because I believe they don't necessarily define expertise. I hold the AZ-305 certification, but I still feel pretty lost when it comes to Azure. I started my journey as a junior Azure engineer about five months ago, and I'm eager to excel at it. Besides gaining experience, which I know is a lengthy process, what other steps can I take to really master Azure? What specific skills should I prioritize learning?

Get hands-on with core resources and understand how they interconnect. Have both a big-picture and detail-oriented approach. Your understanding of client challenges will guide you in solving their problems effectively.

I've learned that a bit of enthusiasm (or fanboyism) helps! It’s important to embrace the quirks and challenges of Azure. Engaging in discussions about how Azure stacks up against AWS or GCP also deepens your understanding.
Just to be real, becoming an architect often requires 7 to 10 years of experience. But if you're switching from AWS to Azure, you don't have to start from the bottom to be effective.
Experience is key! Most of my knowledge comes from diving in headfirst into real-world problems. The more challenges you face, the faster you'll learn.
I agree! But my company doesn't really value the lack of experience, which is understandable since we provide services for other businesses. So I'm looking for ways to boost my expertise outside of just experience.
