How Can I Boost My Internet Speed Without Ethernet?

I just set up a 10 Gbps router, but I'm only getting around 1500 Mbps on my laptop without using an Ethernet cable. Is there any way to speed things up without going wired, or do I need an Ethernet connection to get closer to that 10 Gbps speed?

Before stressing over speeds, make sure to check your actual ISP connection. Sometimes, if they've just activated it, it might not be fully optimized yet. If you're on a 10 Gbps plan, that should give you better speeds, but don't expect to hit that without a direct connection for now.

Right, I’m also seeing around 1651 Mbps download and 1414 Mbps upload, which is pretty good, but definitely not close to what I was expecting!

It sounds like your laptop might be limited by its specs. Check if it has a 2.5 Gbps port because not many laptops have the capability for 10 Gbps. Also, your Wi-Fi standard matters; the actual speed won't hit 10 Gbps over Wi-Fi. Don't forget to consider your ISP speed—if your plan is 1 Gbps, that's your ceiling no matter your router's potential!

Yeah, my laptop has the Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211, and I'm on a 10 Gbps fiber plan that just got activated. Could that be affecting my speed? I noticed my download and upload speeds are almost the same right now.
