How Can I Boost My PC’s Internet Speed Without Running Long Ethernet Cables?

I'm dealing with a situation where my PC is located across the house from my modem/router combo. I get decent WiFi speeds of 250mbps, but when I use a long Ethernet cable, it drops to only 90mbps. The Ethernet is a standard cable that I think is 75 to 100 feet long. I've just ordered a new Cat6a Ethernet cable from Amazon in hopes of improving my speeds, but I'm curious to know if there are other solutions to achieve a stable wired connection without having to run the cable all the way across my house.

It’s possible that your Ethernet port is limited to 100mbps. You might want to check the capabilities of both your PC’s Ethernet port and the one on your router. If they’re both only 100mbps, that could be your issue. In that case, upgrading your hardware could help!

Good point! What about the connection point where the Ethernet is plugged in? Could that also be causing any speed limitations?
