I'm looking to upgrade my PC to improve performance, especially for playing Rainbow Six Siege at a competitive level. Currently, I have an ASUSTeK G10DK motherboard with a B550 chipset and an AM4 CPU socket. My processor is an AMD Ryzen 5 5600, running at 3501 MHz with 6 cores and 12 logical processors, and I have an RTX 4060 graphics card. My RAM consists of two 8GB DDR4-3200 modules from SK Hynix. Additionally, I have a WDC PC SN530 SSD with 512GB storage.
I'm playing at 1080p resolution, but I'm only getting around 170fps with everything set to low, while benchmarks on YouTube suggest it should reach around 230-250fps. I have a 240Hz monitor, so I'm hoping to upgrade my system to achieve a steady 250fps. What should I be looking at to improve my performance?

It sounds like your CPU might be holding you back. Are you maxing out the CPU while gaming? Rainbow Six Siege is pretty CPU-intensive, and it could be affecting your FPS. I noticed after the latest update, my performance dropped as well. Maybe check how much CPU usage you're reaching during gameplay; it could be a factor.
I had a similar experience with my own setup. Saw gameplay videos showing way more FPS with the same parts, which was super frustrating. Maybe it’s just not optimizing as well as it should with the latest patches. Definitely worth looking into tweaks or even a slight overclock if you haven't already.
Honestly, the RTX 4060 isn't the most powerful card out there, so while it should be delivering better FPS, you might also want to consider what's running in the background. I had a similar issue with Fortnite when I had extra apps like Discord and Chrome open. What else do you have running while you game?
Right now, I only have Discord and Spotify open, with Logitech's GHUB and Razer software for my peripherals.

I ran some benchmarks and found that my CPU was only at 53%, while the GPU was hitting around 93%. So it seems like there's some headroom on the CPU side.
