I have a Pioneer CD/DVD player model PDV-LC10, and it's giving me a "Wrong region No" message when I try to play UK DVDs. I really need to change the region before I head out on a 7-hour road trip with my mum on the 8th. Any suggestions on how to do this? I'm in dire need of some entertainment for the trip!

Looks like you're up against the region lock. It's a tough break.
Just a heads up, DVD players are usually region locked. If yours is, the only DVDs it will play are ones compatible with your region. Check under or behind the player for the region label, or consult the manual. You might also have better luck playing DVDs on a laptop with VLC software.
Good idea with the laptop! Thanks for the tip. I just found out the player is from Japan, though... not sure how I'll find a Japanese DVD in English!
You could make a backup of the DVD to your computer and then play that on whatever device you have that can handle it, like a laptop or a tablet.
Hmm, maybe I'll try that.
You might want to check this link I found—it’s a hack for changing the region on your Pioneer PDV-LC10. It could be just what you need! Here's the link: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/pioneer-pdv-lc10/316
Oo okay I'll try this!! Thanks!
Unfortunately, you typically can't change the region on a player unless it's designed to be region-free. You might need to look for DVDs that are meant for the region your player supports.
So where can I even find Japanese DVDs?

Oof.. I know right?
