I'm trying to figure out what CPU upgrades are compatible with my Lenovo 3753 motherboard. I've done some Googling, but I can't find a clear answer. I've learned that there isn't a BIOS update to support Intel's 13th and 14th generation CPUs, and I'm unsure if I can even use an AMD CPU. Currently, I have an Intel i5 12400. Can anyone provide some guidance on what my options are? Thanks!

As it stands, you're pretty locked down with the Lenovo prebuilt. You can upgrade the RAM and GPU, but CPU upgrades are limited to the Alder Lake 12th gen. If you want more flexibility in the future, building a new PC from scratch might be the best way to go.
The key thing to know is that Intel and AMD have different CPU sockets, meaning you can't switch between them on the same motherboard. Your current setup is limited to 12th gen Intel due to the socket type. If you're feeling adventurous, consider swapping out the motherboard to support newer CPUs, but that comes with its own set of challenges.
Upgrading Lenovo PCs like yours can be tricky because they're not designed for it. From what I've read, you definitely won't be able to put an AMD CPU in your motherboard. They use different sockets, and your board is locked into Intel only. You're looking at sticking with 12th gen Intel CPUs, unfortunately.
Your motherboard only supports the Intel 12th generation CPUs, and there aren’t any BIOS updates for the 13th or 14th gen. If you want to see your upgrade options, look for the CPUs that were originally sold with your system. That will give you a clearer picture of what's possible.
