Hey everyone! I recently bought an Asus G11CD for a good deal on eBay, but I'm having some serious issues with it—lots of black screens and weird green and red pixels. My more tech-savvy friends think it's probably a failing GPU, so I'm thinking about upgrading it along with my CPU. I'm looking to replace my GPU with a GTX 1070 Ti and my CPU with an Intel i7-6700, but I have no idea if these will fit with my current motherboard. I've tried looking for a compatibility list, but I'm struggling to find one that's helpful. Even PCPartPicker didn't really clear things up for me. The GTX 1070 Ti should generally be compatible with your Asus G11CD, but you’ll still want to double-check your power supply and ensure it can support the new GPU. As for the CPU upgrade to the i7-6700—make sure your motherboard has the right socket. Since you're upgrading both, it might also be a good idea to save up for something a bit newer if you can!
Your current CPU, the Intel i5-6400, and the GPU you have, the AMD Radeon R9 380, should perform decently for lighter games like Elite Dangerous and BeamNG. However, upgrading to the GTX 1070 Ti and i7-6700 would definitely give you a boost!
