I'm really struggling to uninstall McAfee from my computer. I've tried running PowerShell as an admin, but I keep getting access denied errors even though I'm using the administrator account. I've also changed the security settings on the files, but nothing works! The uninstaller from McAfee's website gets stuck on "Preparing Uninstallation," and trying to remove it through Windows settings results in an error. McAfee is draining my CPU and is even causing Blue Screen crashes. I don't understand how it got on my computer in the first place—I never installed it, and it wasn't on my system last week!

One alternative is to boot into a Linux live environment. From there, you can access your Windows files and delete the McAfee files directly without the Windows restrictions. Just a thought! You might have to deal with the registry separately, though, if you want to clean it up properly.
If you're comfortable diving into more technical steps, see if you can access your Windows Minidump folder for any crash logs from those Blue Screens. You can use those logs to analyze what’s specifically causing the BSODs. Just check in C:WindowsMinidump and if you find anything there, you can zip the folder and upload it to a file-sharing service like catbox.moe. If you're having trouble, just let me know!
Have you tried using the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool? It’s designed specifically for situations like this and could help you get rid of it once and for all. Also, here’s a link to the tool: https://www.mcafee.com/support/s/article/000001616?language=en_US. Good luck!
You might want to use Revo Uninstaller. It’s a powerful tool that can remove stubborn programs and their leftover files from your system. It might be just what you need to get rid of McAfee completely!
Came here for this! Definitely give it a shot.
