Hey everyone! I recently removed an SSD from an old laptop that I disposed of after trying to reset it and delete everything. To make sure all the data is wiped clean, I attempted to shred the files, but now I'm left with three folders on the SSD that I can't delete because I need admin permissions. Those folders are:
- Program Files
- Program Files (x86)
- Windows
My main concern is to ensure that no personal data can be recovered from this SSD. I'm using an enclosure to access it, but I realize that I could have done this better with the old laptop. Does anyone have advice on how to completely wipe the SSD?

You can format the SSD without using quick format to ensure everything is wiped clean. Just go into the formatting options, and that should take care of it!
Just put the SSD in your build and format it there. Don't overthink it! This should be straightforward.
Thanks a lot!
If you're using Windows, you can go into Disk Management, remove the partitions, and create new ones. After that, try using the "Defragment and Optimize Drives" tool; it should help erase all unused space on the SSD.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks so much!
