Hey everyone! I have a quick question—I've got one Active Directory and two buildings located in different areas. What are the best options for establishing connectivity between them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

A VPN is pretty much the go-to if both sites have internet. Just ensure your Active Directory is replicated properly over that connection.

If your buildings are on different sites with distinct internet connections, setting up a site-to-site VPN on the respective firewalls is a solid choice.

Yes, that's correct! Thanks for your help!

For the most reliable connection, consider running singlemode fiber between the buildings. 10GBASE-LR is quite affordable now, especially if you can use preterminated cables. Alternatively, if you can visually connect the buildings, a wireless bridge, like those from Ubiquiti, would work well too!

I've had great results using a Ubiquiti point-to-point setup for four years with no issues at all! Definitely worth considering if you want a wireless solution.

Just a thought: It would help to know how far apart the buildings are. The solution can depend greatly on that!
