Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out how to connect a single Active Directory setup across two different buildings that are not in the same location. What are the best options for establishing this connectivity? Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

It's a little tricky to give specific advice without knowing how far apart the buildings are. If they’re very close and in line of sight, running a direct cable or using a wireless option would be ideal. If they’re farther apart, then relying on VPN might be necessary, along with setting up a second Active Directory at the remote location.
If you have a clear line of sight between the buildings, consider a wireless bridge. Ubiquiti has some solid options for that, and it can provide a fast connection without the hassle of running cables. Otherwise, if both locations have good internet, you can just set up a Point-to-Point VPN.
For the best performance, using singlemode fiber can be very effective. It's quite affordable these days, especially if your application can handle preterminated cables. Just make sure you use the proper conduit to protect the connections!
If your buildings have different Internet connections, a site-to-site VPN is likely the way to go. You can set this up through the firewalls at both sites, which will allow for secure communication between them. It’s reliable and fairly easy to configure!

Thanks for the suggestion! A VPN seems like a good starting point.
