How Can I Control My RGB Lights and AIO in a New Case?

I've been using an NZXT H510i case that came with an integrated Smart Device V2 to manage my RGB strip lights and Kraken AIO display through the CAM software. I've also been controlling the RGB on my RAM and motherboard with Armoury software. Now that I'm upgrading to a new case that's not from NZXT, I'm realizing I won't have that RGB controller. I'd like to know if I need to get a new RGB controller for the new case, if I can just transfer the Smart Device over, or if there's a way to control everything via my motherboard (which is an x670e-a). I'm hoping there's an easy solution I'm just not seeing!

If you’re sticking with NZXT products, you can definitely move the Smart Device over to the new case. For other brands with standard ARGB connectors, your motherboard should have headers you can use, and you can control them through your motherboard’s software.

So the motherboard manages it all? What was the point of the Smart Device then? Was it just for when you have more RGB gear than headers?
