Hey everyone! I had an interesting conversation with my mom recently. On my way to high school with her and my sisters, she mentioned that the rise in cancer cases in our country is due to all the 5G antennas. I got pretty fired up and tried to explain the science behind electromagnetic waves and mobile networks, but I think I just ended up sounding crazy to them. What's a good way to communicate that 5G technology isn't something we should fear?

Check out resources like "How Minds Change" by David McRaney or videos about persuasion, like the one with Mr. Rogers. Also, learning about things like confirmation bias and pseudoscience might help in your discussions with her.
Cancers have been around long before 5G came into play, so that's definitely worth pointing out in a calm way when you chat with her.
I tried using that point too, but she didn't budge.
Maybe ask her if she'd trust something like ChatGPT? Having a conversation with it about 5G could provide a new perspective for her.
There are tons of peer-reviewed studies that show low-level radio frequency (RF) exposure is basically harmless. A quick search will bring you some solid evidence. Just be mindful; the real challenge is whether your mom is open to hearing from credible sources about it. Good luck!
Sounds like a tough spot! I feel for you.
Wow, these might really help me out. Thanks for the links!
