My iPhone 16e has been sitting idle for over six hours, and it's still really hot. It's not plugged in, and I'm not using it for anything. I'm worried this might damage the phone. What steps can I take to cool it down?

Have you tried rebooting the phone? Sometimes an app or software issue can cause it to overheat. Just power it off and then turn it back on; it really helps!
Definitely try turning it off and on again if you haven't already! Let me know how it goes.
If a reboot doesn’t do the trick, back up your phone and try restoring it. Also, make sure you've got the latest iOS version. Are you on 26.2? That could help too.
What were you doing before it started heating up? Sometimes, apps like TikTok can make your phone warm if they’re running for a while.

I rebooted it, but it was still hot for about an hour after that.
