I'm using a Ryzen 5 7600 and it's hitting 97°C while I'm gaming, which seems way too high. Since I'm new to PC gaming, I'm looking for advice on how to lower the temperature. Any suggestions?

Your CPU is running hot, for sure. I had a similar issue with my 7600x. A solid fix is to reapply thermal paste and consider getting a new cooler. I'd recommend the Phantom Spirit 120 SE; it's around $35-40 and can really help drop those temps!
97°C is definitely too high for your CPU! First, can you tell us what CPU cooler you're using? Also, did you build this PC yourself or is it prebuilt? Knowing these details will help us give better advice.
Posting a photo of your setup would be great for diagnosing, but I understand if you're having trouble doing that. Maybe you can describe your case and airflow setup? More info can help us help you better!
