Hey everyone! I'm putting together a budget gaming PC that I plan to use for 1080p gaming. Currently, I'm looking at an AMD Ryzen 5 7500F, but I've heard mixed reviews about its performance. I'm open to suggestions on how I might upgrade some components while reducing costs on others. Here's my current build with pricing:
- AMD Ryzen 5 7500F - $204.84
- Coolleo B40S DIG Cooler - $26.61
- MAXSUN Challenger B650M Motherboard - $109.95
- G.Skill Ripjaws S5 DDR5 32GB - $122.31
- Antec VX100M ARGB Case - $32.26
- Super Flower Zillion 650W Bronze PSU - $57.00
- PowerColor Reaper RX 9060 XT - $519.89
- Samsung SSD 1TB 980 NVMe - $105.11
Total: $1,177.97.
If you have any thoughts or recommendations, I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Honestly, the 8400F isn't a huge downgrade from the 7500F, and you could save around $70-80. If cost is your main issue, I think it’s worth considering. Just keep in mind that it might not give you the same performance boost if that's what you're after.
I notice your RAM is a bit pricey for 5200MHz. You could probably switch to a cheaper 6000 CL30 RAM; it’ll perform just as well. Other than that, your cooler isn’t necessary since AMD CPUs come with one. Maybe look at cheaper alternatives for your GPU and PSU too.
Great tips! I’ll definitely check RAM prices here. The GPU is pretty much the best deal I could find currently, though.
If you go for a non-tray CPU, you can use the included stock cooler which could save you some cash. Also, consider downgrading your GPU a bit or looking into used options; sometimes you can score a sweet deal on older models that still perform well.
That’s true! Would the price difference be worth the performance dip, though?
