I'm new to building PCs and I'm shocked at how pricey everything is. I mean, is it normal for motherboards to be this high? Also, I'm considering waiting a few months to buy a GPU because it's really messing with my budget. Does anyone have tips on how to save money without sacrificing too much performance?

Motherboards don't have to cost an arm and a leg! There are plenty of solid ones for less than half of what you've chosen. It really depends on your needs. Are you gaming or just doing casual tasks? If you're mostly gaming, consider cutting back on RAM and storage. You really don’t need 8TB of SSD space unless you're a pro content creator!
Exactly! And GPUs right now are super overpriced. If you're not in a hurry, waiting for a better market might be the way to go.
You're definitely overpaying on some parts! For instance, do you really need a 9900X? Also, that cooler you picked is pretty pricey. Your motherboard could be a lot cheaper too—look for alternatives that still provide good quality without the high price. I recommend downgrading a few components; it'll save you cash and still give you solid performance, especially if you're mainly gaming.
As for the GPU, if you can hold off for a bit, prices might drop around major sales like Black Friday. Just keep an eye out for deals!
Totally agree! The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is great for productivity, but if gaming is your main focus, you might want to consider a less expensive option that's still powerful enough.
Yeah, I was looking at that as well. You can definitely run Windows without a license for a while if you want to save more money. Just focus on the essentials for now.
You might be looking at some components that are just way too powerful for what you need. It sounds like you're overbuilding for your purposes. Try sticking to more mid-range options. Also, consider waiting for sales or even just asking around for budget-friendly alternatives. Your build could be a lot cheaper and still perform well!
Right? And if you’re just doing casual gaming, you don’t need all that RAM or storage. Let's not go all out unless it's necessary.
True! Sometimes the high-end parts aren't actually better for day-to-day use. Just find what fits your needs!
Plus, if you don’t need dual 4TB SSDs, you can definitely swap those for more budget-friendly options.
