How Can I Delete Individual Autocomplete Addresses in Outlook?

I'm having trouble with the autocomplete feature in Outlook where I can't find a way to delete stored addresses individually. When I start a new message and type a name, I used to see an 'X' next to the address for deletion, but it's not appearing now. I'm using Microsoft 365 at work and tested it on my personal account on a different machine, with both setups showing the same issue. I've even tried both the desktop and browser versions along with safe mode. A friend of mine couldn't reproduce the issue on his end, so I'm not sure what's going on. It's frustrating, but it's not halting my work.

It seems like you're encountering some restrictions that might be due to company policies regarding what changes you can make. It could be worth chatting with your IT department since they might have settings that prevent you from deleting those addresses individually.

Yeah, I get that! In older versions, you could just click the 'X' next to the email, but it looks like it's changed a lot since then. Hopefully, IT can give you a hand!

You can check both the global address list and your personal address list. If you're using the new Outlook, go to the People section, select the contact, and you should see a Delete option. For old Outlook, follow a similar process. If using Outlook Web, click People at the bottom, select Your Contacts, and then you can delete from there. Just a heads up, this isn't the same as the autocomplete list you're referring to, which is a different ball game.

I think there’s a misunderstanding here. The autocomplete addresses come from the NK2 file, and that’s tricky to edit. You might want to check if there's an option to clear the entire list on Microsoft's site instead.
