I'm really frustrated with the 'Continue' function because it often causes issues and damages my files. I'm curious, what's the actual purpose of this feature for users like me who are paying for the service? Is there a way to turn it off?

You might want to try enabling 'Extended Thinking'. Some folks say it can change how the model responds, but be careful as it might actually make the 'Continue' prompt show up sooner than before. Worth a shot, though!
Honestly, have you just tried not clicking 'Continue'? For me, it usually works well and doesn't cause too many problems.
'Continue' can be annoying, but it seems to be tied to output limits on text generation. If you're hitting those limits regularly, you're likely stuck with it for now. Try getting used to it or look for updates that might help.
If you're using Claude, it might just be the auto-compact feature messing things up. You can try asking for a prompt to disable it directly in your [CLAUDE.md]. I’ve set mine to just stop without any continuation or summary, which works well for me!
I know a person who made a funny script with Claude that automatically dismisses the 'Continue' feature. It’s a creative workaround if you're into scripting!
Yeah, I think 'Extended Thinking' just uses up tokens for more in-depth replies, which can actually complicate things.
