I'm looking to make the switch from Windows 10 to Fedora on my Dell Inspiron 15-3537, but I'm facing issues with ghost touches on my touchscreen, which seem to be disabled in Windows but affect the whole laptop. I've also tried installing Arch and FydeOS with the same touchscreen problem. Is there a way to hardware disable the touchscreen on this laptop, or a quick method to turn it off during the Fedora installation?

Once you've got Fedora installed, you can disable the touchscreen in the settings. I don’t think there’s an option for it during the installation, though it might need a specific driver that's optional. Just keep that in mind!
Are you sure it’s not just you? Sometimes ghost touches can be misinterpreted, so make sure the screen is clean and there’s no interference.
Have you checked your UEFI settings? Sometimes there are options to disable the touchscreen directly there, but I know not all laptops provide that feature.
Sadly, there isn't a touchscreen option in my BIOS.
In my experience, third-party software can cause a lot of issues with installations. I usually stick to the essentials and build from there, which helps in troubleshooting later. Just a heads up!
Thanks, I'll try that!
