How Can I Downgrade My CPU When BIOS Won’t Update?

I'm currently trying to replace the CPU in my HP Omen 30L (model GT13-1174) from a Ryzen 7 to a Ryzen 5. The issue is that the Ryzen 5 doesn't boot with the current BIOS. I need to update the BIOS firmware first, but I'm facing several obstacles: the BIOS setup menu lacks an update option, HP's Windows BIOS update utility fails because Windows blocks the amifldrv64.sys driver due to security issues related to Memory Integrity and Core Isolation, and even after disabling Memory Integrity, the installer still fails. Additionally, I'm having trouble accessing HP's recovery USB creation and firmware management tools; they either don't show up in the startup menus or fail to detect the USB. I'm really stuck, as I can't get the BIOS updated to boot the Ryzen 5 without these updates.

Have you tried downloading a BIOS installation tool from the manufacturer? I faced a similar issue and found the AMI BIOS installer for Windows really helpful. It worked for me!

Yeah, but wouldn't it be better to stick with HP's tools since they're the ones who made the board? I tried downloading their tool once, but it didn't help.

Have you checked what the mainboard tab says using CPU-Z? It might have some info that could help you figure out the version you need for the BIOS.
