How can I easily merge two partitions when my Windows partition is running out of space?

I'm in a bit of a pickle with my hard drive. I have a 150GB Windows partition (C:) that's completely full, and another partition (A:) with 1761GB, but only 190GB of that is free. I can't move my Windows setup to the A: drive. What's the best way to merge these partitions without losing my data? I want to keep everything on one partition, but it seems like I don't have enough space on either side. Do I need to wipe the A: drive and then merge it with the C: drive? Is there a better solution?

To merge those partitions, you'll likely have to reformat, which unfortunately means erasing all the data on both. If they're on the same disk, one option is to shrink the C: drive a bit (make sure to leave some breathing room since a full C: can lead to problems) and then expand the A: drive into that space. Another temporary fix is to shrink both partitions and create a spanned volume to use the unallocated space, but that's a bit risky and only a short-term solution.

I get what you're saying about the C: drive issues. To expand it, the adjacent partition needs to have free space, which it doesn’t right now. I can't even move the A: partition next to C: to expand it.
