Why is my KVM switch only recognizing my keyboard on one computer?

I've got a setup where I'm using a Linkskey 2 Port USB KVM Switch with my Linux Mint desktop (PC1) and a Dell laptop running Windows 11 (PC2). The KVM is working fine for my monitors and mouse, but my Logitech K360 wireless keyboard only works on one of the computers at a time. For instance, when I'm on PC1, the keyboard's responsive, but as soon as I switch to PC2, it doesn't work unless I unplug and replug the dongle. I've also tried switching the dongles for both the keyboard and mouse, and now I'm facing the same issue with the mouse. I've updated both OSs and all drivers, and tried power-cycling everything, but nothing seems to help. What can I do?

Wireless keyboards can be a bit finicky with KVM switches. I'd suggest trying a wired keyboard to see if that alleviates the issue. If it works without a hitch, then you know the wireless setup is causing the hassle.

Totally agree! There are KVMs that have a special chip that remembers the USB settings for your devices, which helps prevent the need to plug and unplug constantly. You might want to check out models that support wireless setups if you want to stick with your keyboard. Alternatively, software KVMs like Multiplicity could be a game changer for you.
