I'm having major issues getting consistent camera installations at our facility. I've tried giving in-person instructions, shared a Unifi Design Center drawing, and even resorted to taking pictures and marking them up with MS Paint. Despite all this, our service team is still installing some cameras in the wrong spots. I know my site drawings lack specific details like heights, but I'm looking for a more effective way to show where we need the cameras installed, especially since we have another site coming up soon. Any tips or suggestions?

Have you thought about using painter's tape? Just mark the spots on the walls and make sure it has clear instructions about height and angles. If you can’t reach some areas, put the tape where you can access easily and include extra details on it to guide them. This has worked for me before!
Great suggestion! I think that could help make things clearer.
It's best if you can be there during the install to ensure everything's placed properly. If that's not possible, consider having a dedicated project manager or someone knowledgeable on-site to supervise and make adjustments as needed. Having that face-to-face interaction can really help.
If they keep messing up even after your visible markers and instructions, it might be time to rethink your vendor. You deserve a team that listens and executes the plan correctly. Perhaps escalating this to someone who can address the competency issues is the way to go.
Why not use some paint! Just grab some neon pink spray paint to mark the exact locations on the walls where you want the cameras. It’s super visible and makes it clear for the installers where everything should go. Plus, it's quick and easy!
That’s a solid idea! It’s a visual cue that can’t be missed. Plus, it’s easy to remove afterwards.
