How can I effectively promote my AI application for sysadmins?

I recently built an AI-driven app to help sysadmins and system engineers automate routine tasks using simple English commands instead of complex code. For example, users can say things like 'Install Docker on all production hosts' or 'Check disk space on all Ubuntu machines'. The app translates these commands into actionable steps and includes an approval process to ensure safety. While it's free and open-source on my GitHub (https://github.com/RC-92/Opsydian), I'm struggling with how to market it. I want to attract interest, encourage contributions, and get it tested, as well as hopefully catch the eye of potential employers on LinkedIn. Where should I start?

Many in IT don’t fully trust AI tools yet, especially if they’re new. Building more credibility over time is key. Keep enhancing your GitHub presence with unique projects, and maybe shift towards more development roles to gain the trust needed for projects like this in the future.

I think your app is interesting, but the audience is a bit off. Many sysadmins might be hesitant to trust an AI tool for critical tasks. You could consider adapting your app for roles like receptionists or accounting where there's potentially less resistance to using AI. Just a thought!

You might want to consider outreach in more targeted communities. For instance, r/selfhosted could be a good place to start since they appreciate projects like yours. Also, building a personal brand around your work on LinkedIn could help you attract attention from employers. Make posts showcasing what your app can do or share updates on new features and changes. It shows you’re actively developing and engaging with your audience.

Have you thought about using AI itself to help you create a marketing strategy? It could assist in brainstorming awareness campaigns and ways to get your project noticed. Just make sure to communicate the value and safety of your app clearly, since some folks are skeptical of AI.
