I'm facing a challenge at work where we have very outdated application patch management practices. A number of users have installed Google Chrome but stop using it, leading their workstations to show as vulnerable when scans are done because Chrome isn't updated. Beyond typical management tools, are there alternative methods to keep Chrome updated? I've attempted using a batch file with the GoogleUpdate application, but that hasn't worked.

Is Chrome available through winget? If it is, that could streamline updates a bit. However, I've had issues with winget in my own environment, so just a heads-up that it might not be a reliable option for you.
Have you checked out Ninite Pro? It's a great option for automating app updates, including Chrome.
You might want to consider using PowerShell to handle updates. Also, removing the individual installations in favor of the enterprise version could make things easier. Tools like PDQ could be helpful for managing this.
I feel you on that! I've tried winget for other apps, and it didn't really pan out for us.
