I'm looking for ways to boost the Bluetooth signal of a Tandem t slim insulin pump. I reached out to Tandem, but they mentioned that the pump's signal is intentionally weak for safety reasons, so they won't provide detailed information. My 84-year-old father has been a Type 1 diabetic for 75 years, but he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's four years ago. We started using the Tandem app to help me manage his insulin and monitor his blood sugars without waking him up, but now I'm struggling to get readings when I'm at the far end of the house. He roams at night and snacks, which makes things tricky since I have to check on him multiple times. Are there any suggestions for a Bluetooth range extender or a workaround to improve the signal? Thanks in advance!

Extenders for Bluetooth Low Energy devices like medical equipment are pretty scarce. You could, in theory, set up a separate device to act as a signal booster, but this would involve creating a specialized IoT device or using a PC as a repeater, which might be more complex than it's worth. It might help to share more about what these setups look like for better insights!

Thanks for your response! It sounds like setting up a PC could be a complex solution. Could you explain more about how one might do that or what a standalone device would involve?
