I'm using a Moto G40 Fusion running Android 12, and I've run into a bit of a problem. Recently, when I tried to access the developer options, it asked me for my password, but it said I entered the wrong PIN. I thought I made a mistake, but when I restarted my phone and entered the password again, it worked fine, even though it still displayed 'Wrong PIN.' I'm a bit worried about restarting it again. I've written down my passwords because the backup method wasn't working properly. Now, I'm considering doing a factory reset, but I'm not sure if there's a way to do that without the PIN. Any advice?

It’s pretty uncommon to need a PIN for accessing developer options, but it sounds like your device is a bit glitchy. If you're trying to factory reset without the PIN, you can usually do that by booting into recovery mode. You’ll need to turn off your phone, then hold the power and volume down buttons together until the recovery menu appears. From there, use the volume buttons to navigate to 'Wipe data/factory reset' and select it with the power button. Just keep in mind this will erase all your data!
Another way is using your Google account. After multiple failed attempts, your device might prompt you about that. It’s worth checking if you can reset through your Google Account if you're signed in. Otherwise, the recovery menu method is your best bet. Just make sure to back up anything important because a factory reset is a clean slate.
