How can I fix a gap at the top of my screen when maximizing windows in Windows 11?

I'm having a frustrating issue with Windows 11 where there's a permanent gap at the top of my screen when I try to maximize resizable windows. Fullscreen applications like Task Manager fit perfectly, but when I attempt to maximize other windows, they always stop a few pixels below the top edge, leaving a gap. I've tried disabling Snap Windows in the multitasking settings and turning off Nearby sharing's Drag Tray feature. I even tried moving the window using the right-click and arrow key method, but it always snaps back. Is there any way to resolve this?

Another thing you can try is to go into the BIOS and reset it to default settings. Just make sure you back up your data first, since changing BIOS settings can have some impact. But sometimes, weird display issues can be resolved this way. Just a thought!

It sounds like a real headache! Have you tried adjusting your display settings? Sometimes scaling options can affect how windows are maximized. Go into Settings > System > Display, and make sure everything looks good there. Also, double-check your screen resolution to ensure it's set properly. Let me know if that helps!

I haven't checked that yet, but I will! Thanks for the suggestion.

Also, if you recently updated Windows, there might be some glitches affecting window management. Check if there's another update available, as sometimes these issues get patched. If not, rolling back the update could be a last resort. Fingers crossed one of these works for you!

If adjusting the display settings doesn't work, consider reinstalling or updating your graphics drivers. Sometimes, outdated or corrupt drivers can cause issues like that. You can usually find the latest drivers on your GPU manufacturer's website. Good luck!
