Why isn’t my new second monitor connecting to my GTX 1650 graphics card?

I've got a GTX 1650 graphics card and just bought a new monitor to add alongside my existing one, but the new monitor isn't showing up in the settings. I've already done a clean driver installation and tried setting it to extend through the Windows + P menu. The new monitor is connected via DisplayPort, but despite troubleshooting, it's still not working. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

When you mention setting it to extend, how were you able to do that if it doesn't show up in your settings? Also, just to double-check, are both monitors powered on and set to the right input? Sometimes, confusion happens there.

I used the Windows + P shortcut to bring up the options. My setup is Nvidia GTX 1650, with the first monitor on HDMI and the second one that won't connect using DisplayPort.

First, can you confirm that the new monitor actually works? Sometimes the issue could just be with the monitor itself. You could test it out by connecting it to a different port or device. Let me know if it lights up when you do that!

Yes, I tested it on the HDMI port and it turned on fine.
