One of my fans has started making a really annoying rattling noise and I can see it moving up and down when it runs. I don't have the warranty anymore, so is there a DIY way I can fix it?

Honestly, it’s probably easier to just replace the fan rather than trying to fix it. Rattling usually means it's on its way out.
Definitely consider replacing it before it completely falls apart. It’s not worth the hassle!
If you’re dealing with case fans, I highly recommend investing in a good brand like Noctua. They might be pricier, but they’re super quiet and built to last. A bit of a splurge, but worth it for the longevity!
I’d just remove the fan. It's more of a temporary fix to try to quiet it down, but in the end, replacement is really the smartest choice.
Make sure you know what’s actually rattling. If it's the fan cage that holds the blades, sometimes tightening screws or adding a small shim can help stop the noise.

True, they do cost more, but think of it this way: they last much longer than cheaper options and often come with great warranties. So, it could save you money in the long run!
