I've been really eager to switch to Linux, but I'm having a tough time because my monitor won't show the right resolution. Currently, it's stuck on 1024 x 768 at 60 Hz, even though I exported the EDID from Windows and tried various tools to correct it. My monitor is a *SV300QB*, a budget 30-inch 21:9 display capable of 2560 x 1080p at 200 Hz using DisplayPort, and 165 Hz with HDMI. I'm running an RTX 3060 TI for my GPU and an R5 5500 CPU with 32 GB of RAM. I've been troubleshooting this for months! My setup uses Wayland since my OS (Nobara Linux) removed X11, but switching to X11 didn't help either. The identifier for my monitor is DP-1. I've already checked the DisplayPort cable and GPU port, and everything works fine with the Nouveau drivers, but I need Nvidia for gaming. I'm at my wits' end, as using xrandr to force the resolution doesn't work either, and I keep getting errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to try getting an EDID emulator dongle. I had a similar issue with a cheap monitor that wouldn’t display the proper resolution on several PCs. I plugged in an EDID emulator I bought for my Steam Deck, and it fixed the problem instantly. I don't entirely understand how they work, but many people in the Steam Deck community have had success with them for issues like this. Just be aware, the product descriptions can be a bit confusing!
Might try that then.
