How can I fix my screen not filling the entire monitor?

I'm having an issue where my screen isn't filling the whole monitor, and there are black bars on the sides. My monitor's native resolution is 2560x1440p. I've tried adjusting settings in both my display and Nvidia control panel, but nothing seems to work. I also have a smaller 1920x1080 monitor connected. Can anyone help me figure out how to resolve this? I've looked online, but haven't found a solid solution.

Since it was working fine before, it's possible a recent driver update caused this. Nvidia's 5000 series drivers have had a few problems lately. You might want to try rolling back to an older driver or downloading the latest hotfix driver manually. Also, using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) could help wipe your GPU drivers clean. Once that's done, install the hotfix and check the scaling mode options in the Nvidia control panel. As a test, try connecting just the problematic monitor by itself to rule out any issues with the dual-monitor setup.

Have you thought about reinstalling the latest Nvidia drivers? If you go with the custom option during installation, you can choose to do a clean install, which might help.

Are both of your monitors plugged into the same video card? Sometimes the setup can cause issues if they're connected differently.
