I'm having a frustrating problem where every time I close Explorer windows, they don't unload from memory, forcing me to restart Explorer just to clear things up. Is there anyone else experiencing this, and how can I resolve it?

Have you thought about switching to Windows 10 LTSC IOT 2021 or even Linux? It seems like this memory leak issue is more prevalent with AMD and Intel GPUs. I don’t notice it with Nvidia ones. Just a thought!

No way I'm going back to Windows 10. Once I upgraded, I'm sticking with it, and Linux is not an option for me. By the way, I have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, so maybe that's why I don't see this issue.

It sounds like the issue might be related to shortcuts. If you're using a custom shortcut instead of the original one created by Windows, that could be the cause of the memory leak. I confirmed this was happening for someone else recently, so it's worth checking out your shortcuts.

I actually just have a shortcut pinned to my Taskbar. Could that be the issue?
