How can I format my SSD that’s currently running Linux?

I have an SSD that I used to install Linux, but now I'm having trouble formatting it. I've tried formatting it both in Windows and Linux, but nothing seems to work. I can still access the SSD, and I know it's using the ext4 file system. Is there anything I can do to confirm whether it's functioning properly or troubleshoot the formatting issue?

Could you share more details about what you've tried? For example, what specific steps did you follow, and what errors did you encounter? Screenshots or console logs would really help in figuring out the problem.

First off, it sounds like you might want to delete the existing partition on the SSD and create a new one before attempting to format it. That could resolve the issue you're facing.

To format a drive that's actively in use, like your SSD running Linux, you'll need to boot from external media, such as a Linux USB stick. Once you've booted from the USB, you can then format the SSD without any issues.
