How can I get my old MacBook Pro to recognize my newer iPhone?

I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro running OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), and iTunes won't recognize my newer iPhone. Aside from the joke of buying a new MacBook, is there any actual solution to this issue? It seems pointless to keep updating my iPhone if I can't sync it with my computer. Any help would be appreciated!

Honestly, your MacBook is pretty dated for today's standards. While I get that it's annoying, Apple updates make it hard to keep older devices in sync. If you're set on keeping this MacBook, try using third-party software for transferring files, they might work better than iTunes.

It sounds like you're trying to transfer songs and videos from iTunes to your new iPhone. Since your MacBook is quite old, it's likely that it doesn't meet the requirements to recognize newer iPhones. You might need to consider updating your macOS, which can help with compatibility issues. Check out the OpenCore Legacy Patcher to see if you can install a newer version of macOS on your machine!

Yeah, upgrading your macOS could definitely solve some of those syncing problems. Just do some research first to make sure it's compatible with your Mac.
