How Can I Get Out of My Programming Rut?

I think instead of just cranking out code, focus on deeper learning. Getting a new job or project can really push you to learn different frameworks and patterns. Also, read some programming books – they can really open your eyes to idioms or packages you might not know about. Looking at the source code of popular projects or libraries can also be a goldmine for learning. I wish I had done this earlier in my programming journey instead of just writing code mindlessly.

Start small! Pick an easy project like a simple game or a backend service and get coding. A lot of people just watch videos or read about coding but never actually apply what they learn. Remember, copy-pasting code won’t help you; make mistakes and learn from them. Debugging is a huge part of the process, so embrace the failures.

While I don’t love the "just code" mentality, it’s crucial to apply your studies by actually creating something useful, even if it’s small. It’s a great way to start.

Honestly, stop overthinking it and just code! It's important to put in that practice. But make sure you have a goal you’re coding towards. It’ll help you learn while you're doing.
