I've recently moved my setup to my office, which is located at the back of my apartment, making it the furthest point from the WiFi router. Previously, my connection was solid when I was in the bedroom or right next to the router in the living room. Now, I'm experiencing constant drops and lag, especially when streaming or gaming with friends. The issues started a few weeks ago. My router is relatively new, having been purchased a couple of months ago. I'm wondering if I should consider getting a WiFi extender or perhaps another router? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked what frequency band you're using to connect? The 2.4 GHz band has better range but might be slower. If you're not on that already, switching could help.
Getting a WiFi extender could help, but make sure to place it in a location where it can still get a strong signal from the router or else it won't be effective.
Just a reminder, if you do decide to go for a WiFi extender, placement is key. Putting it in a halfway point in your hallway could work well. You might also try adjusting the antennas on your router for better signal to your new location.
Yeah, apartments can be terrible for WiFi! You might want to consider wiring your office with an ethernet cable if possible. Alternatively, a good mesh router could help improve the coverage.
That sounds like a solid plan! I'll definitely look into that.
