I'm dealing with some frustrating WiFi issues. I have Cox's 1GIG internet plan, and I primarily connect my PC via Ethernet. I recently built another PC and ran an additional Ethernet cable. However, I've noticed that when both PCs are connected, the WiFi either shuts off or slows down drastically. I even tried sharing my phone's WiFi with my PC, but that comes with its own set of problems. I'm looking for suggestions on how to set things up so both PCs can effectively use the Ethernet connection without causing any trouble.

If both PCs are directly connected to the modem and the internet is still slow, check if your modem supports multiple connections properly. It's also worth running a speed test to see if the speed drops when both are online. You might need to update your modem firmware or consider upgrading to a better router that can handle dual connections efficiently.
It sounds like you're mixing up the connections a bit. Just to clarify, the issue could be either with your internet slowing down or the WiFi being impacted. Make sure your PCs are connected directly to the router with Ethernet cables. If you’re using two cables going directly to the modem without a switch, that could be causing the conflict. Consider getting a network switch that can help manage your connections better.
Thanks! I'll look into the modem settings and see if there's a firmware update available. A better router might be a good investment too.
