How can I keep my room cool while gaming on my PC?

I have a bulky Acer PC that really heats up my room after about 30 minutes of gaming, turning it into a sauna! My air conditioning isn't helping since the thermostat is in a different room. In winter, I could just open a window to cool things down, but it's summer now and that's not an option. I'm considering getting a standalone AC unit that vents the heat out through my door since my window can't accommodate any AC designs. I'd love to hear your ideas or if you've found any better solutions for this issue. Thanks!

Why not put your PC in another room altogether? You could run USB and HDMI cables to keep using it in your own space without the heat. It keeps the warm air out of your room entirely.

I keep my gaming PC in my office, and I manage it with a ceiling fan, a small desk fan blowing warm air out, and a vent booster that improves air flow from the vent. It helps keep things cooler.

Using a box fan can really help circulate the air in and out of your room. And think about ways to enhance your PC’s efficiency. As for venting an AC out the door, I’m not sure how effective that’d be. Can't your windows open? There are portable units that work with any window that opens a few inches, which might be a better fit for summer.

1. I could try a box fan, but I like keeping my door shut most of the time.

2. My PC needs to perform at peak efficiency for reasons beyond gaming.

3. I did consider making a custom exhaust attachment for a portable AC to slide under the door crack, but that might not work at all. My casement window opens outwards, which complicates things.

Have you tried undervolting your CPU and GPU? That can lower heat levels significantly! If that’s not an option, then an AC unit is your best bet. Also, consider capping your FPS; there’s no point in running it above your monitor’s refresh rate.

If the heat can't be effectively vented out, one solid option is to just move your PC out of the room entirely. That way, it won't fill your space with warm air at all.
