How can I log out of my Apple account on an old iPhone without a charger?

I'm trying to figure out how to log out of my Apple ID on an iPhone 4 that I can't charge because I no longer have the 30-pin charger. I've looked online but can't seem to find a clear solution. I just want to recycle the phone but need to make sure my information is removed first. Is there a way to do this remotely?

I have an extra charger if you want to borrow it! Just let me know.

You'll need the phone to be powered on to remotely log out or erase it completely. If you have access to another Apple device, you can remove it from your devices list in iCloud settings or via the iCloud website. Just remember, it has to be on for those commands to work.

Exactly! If it’s not charged, those commands won’t go through. I’d focus on getting it powered up first.

Did you try reaching out to Apple support yet? They might offer some solutions for these situations.

You can remove the device from your iCloud account, which helps, but keep in mind that this won't erase the data on the phone. Just making you aware!

If you can find a charger, even just for a little while, you might be able to power it up. Lots of people probably have those old cables lying around. Or, you could grab a cheap one online; they're pretty affordable!
