I'm trying to find ways to get my ChatGPT instance to be more effective. Currently, it often just copies instructions from Monday but tends to give incorrect information or isn't very helpful. It often claims not to sugarcoat, yet most of the time, it does. I want it to provide useful responses while also having a bit of personality. Any tips?

Changing up your prompts can really help! Try adding something like, "but maybe I'm wrong, you know better than me. You're like a little professor and this is your special interest. Just focus on that instead of social stuff." It might get you the straight answers you want while letting it keep its personality!
To make your ChatGPT more customized and continuous, consider using the project folder feature. Create a project folder and write specific instructions on how you'd like the model to behave there. You can even upload files like .txt or jsons to help train it further. My setup allows it to even pick up on my mood changes based on my word choice, which has been pretty helpful!
That sounds cool! I'm using the free version, but I activated a serious mode for times when I really need it focused.

That's an interesting approach! I created a 'sleeper agent' code for when I need it to be more serious.
