Hey everyone! I'm planning to install Mint Xfce on my PC, but I've run into a bit of a snag - I've lost my second USB stick. Now, I've got one USB to boot from, but no way to back up my files. My goal is to dual boot with Windows, and I want to know if there's an easy way to transfer my important files over to the Mint side, or will I have to download everything from the cloud again or email myself a zip file? Thanks for your help!

If you're dual booting, once you have Linux installed, you'll be able to access your Windows files right away! Just move them to your Linux partition from there. Also, before you switch, make sure to update your BIOS to the latest version—that can prevent issues later on. And if you’re considering Mint Xfce, you might also want to check out MX Linux Xfce as an alternative!
I hear you on wanting to keep a local copy of your files! Thankfully, once you set up Mint, you'll be able to access your Windows NTFS data just fine, so no need to stress about getting everything from the cloud. It's a nice convenience when dual booting!
You can find some great info on migrating your files without needing a second USB! Check out [this migration guide](https://rltvty.net/installlinux.html). It should help streamline the process and save you a headache! Good luck with your install!
