How Can I Move Windows 11 From My C: Drive to D: Drive?

I recently upgraded my PC with a new 2TB SSD, and since then, I've been facing performance issues. My old C: drive seems to be struggling, especially during updates and installations—my connection lags and gaming performance drops significantly. I suspect that my C: drive can't handle the load, as it often reaches full capacity during updates. I'm considering moving my Windows 11 installation from the C: drive to the D: drive, but I don't want to risk losing any important data. I've done some research but found it complicated. What is the best way to move Windows from one drive to another, and can this be done without losing my files?

First, make sure your D: drive has enough space for everything on your C: drive. If it does, you can clone the C: drive to the D: drive using a disk cloning tool. This way, you’ll be able to boot Windows from your D: drive afterward. Just remember to backup any essential data first, in case things go sideways! Also, it might help to free up some space on your C: drive before the move to improve performance.

Good point! Also, if you can keep your old drive until you’re sure everything works, that would be the safest option.
