My neighbor has this generic SPC Gravity 4 tablet (model 97856128N) that has stopped booting. It won't charge when plugged in, and the screen doesn't even indicate a depleted battery like it used to a few weeks ago. I'm considering opening it up to swap the battery, but I can't seem to get my spudger under the tightly sealed trim. Do I need any specific tools for this job? I think I might have a heat blower available.

Using a heat gun along with a large suction cup is a great way to handle the tightly sealed trim. Heat up the edges to soften the adhesive, then use the suction cup to gently pull up the screen or the back cover. That should make it easier to access the battery.
I recommend you apply the suction cup to both the back and the sides after heating since you'll likely need to lift the whole assembly. Just be careful and work slowly to avoid damaging the device.
