Hey everyone! I tried to install webp support on my Linux Mint setup so I could open .webp files in Irfanview, which I absolutely love. I ran the command `sudo apt install webp` in the terminal, but unfortunately, it didn't resolve the issue, and I keep receiving an error message stating that "Irfanview needs the webp format added to its library."
I installed Irfanview via Wine since there's no Linux version available. While it works great for other formats like .jpg and .png, I'm struggling with the plug-ins necessary for .webp files because the installer is a Windows .exe and it doesn't recognize the Linux file directories.
I'm hoping someone here has successfully installed Irfanview with all the plug-ins on Linux, or perhaps you can suggest an alternative image viewer that can handle .webp files? It would be great to find something with similar efficiency and functionality as Irfanview, especially regarding cropping and image adjustments. Any help would be appreciated!

You might want to check out gthumb! It works well for .webp files, and it could be a quick solution for now while you sort out Irfanview. Plus, it's got some nice features for image management.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll give gthumb a try. By the way, I think I have a potential workaround for Irfanview—I’m considering downloading the main program and the plug-ins without the .exe installer to see if I can merge them manually inside Bottles. Hopefully, that’ll work!
