I've disabled the 'GoogleUpdaterService' and 'GoogleUpdaterInternalService' in the Windows Services app, but Chrome still insists on checking for updates and prompts me to restart almost daily. I'm looking for a foolproof way to stop these automatic updates. Are there any other steps I can take to completely prevent Chrome from updating on its own?

I get that constant updates can be annoying, but it's worth considering that a lot of them are for security fixes. If you're comfortable with it, there are ways to manage updates via registry settings, but that could be tricky if you're not tech-savvy.
You might want to check the Task Scheduler again to make sure the update tasks are fully disabled. Sometimes they can re-enable themselves, so double-checking can help.
If you really want to avoid these pesky updates, consider switching to a different browser like Long-Term Support (LTS) Firefox which is designed for stability without frequent updates.
In addition to that, have you looked into the browser settings? Sometimes Chrome will keep running processes even when it's closed, which could be tied to the updates. You can toggle those settings to see if it helps.
