I'm having an issue with my iPhone 16 and MacBook Air M2. Whenever I connect my phone to my MacBook Air, it starts charging for a while, but then it unexpectedly switches and starts charging the MacBook from the iPhone's battery instead. This behavior wasn't happening before, and I'm looking for ways to stop it. I'm using a USB-C charger connected to one of the USB-C ports on my Mac, while normally it charges the MacBook through the magnetic strip. Any suggestions?

Is your iPhone set to data transfer mode? When you connect, does it prompt you to trust the device, and can you see it in Finder? Also, make sure you're using a quality cable. If you're using an Apple cable, it should be fine, but it’s good to confirm.
Just to clarify, that reverse charging behavior isn't how it's meant to work. The power requirements for the MacBook exceed what's typically shared over a USB-C connection. You might need to check if there's any setting or software issue causing it to act this way.
Have you tried restarting both your iPhone and MacBook? Sometimes with USB-C connections, the devices need to negotiate power, and it seems like there might be a glitch happening. I suspect it could be an issue with the MacBook's settings or software causing this weird behavior.
